Base Camp
Start your morning off right with worship and our opening session for Day 1. Join Kim and Brandon as they begin their adventure through the Rocky Mountains. Each day you will get to choose how their adventure goes! Today our teaching on prayer will help us “Limit Distractions.”
Bible Adventures
In today’s Bible adventure, we meet the team and learn more of what it looks like to limit distractions. The story is a snapshot of Jesus praying alone (away from distractions). Want to act it out yourself? Try acting out as a group Mark 1:35.
Bible Basics
Miss Amy introduces us to the Bible and teaches us how to look up specific verses so we can study it together.
Games!!!
Nature Walk Bingo
Today we are going exploring in the great outdoors! You may go to a park, down the street and back, or simply in your own backyard. Look for the items on your bingo sheet and mark the ones you find! Be sure everyone brings back two smooth rocks to paint for craft today!
Equipment – Bingo Sheets, Crayons or Writing Utensils to cross off items found, Extra rocks for those who do not find one
Get Crafty!
Prayer Rocks – Let’s create reminders of prayer! Use the paint to decorate two rocks – one to keep and one to share or place along a trail for someone to find. After the paint dries you can write a word or phrase to remind you of the importance of prayer. Ideas: Joy, Pray, Love, Patience, Peace. The prayer rock that you keep can be placed next to your bed or table to be a reminder to pray each day to God.
Items Needed – Two rocks found on Nature Hike/Walk, cups of water, acrylic paints and paintbrushes. Extra rocks for those who did not find smooth, paintable rocks.
Prayer Corner
Let’s practice what we are learning about prayer! How can we limit distractions when we talk with God? Everyone will receive a journal to begin using for keeping track of prayers.
